Fans hoping to see Tiger Woods celebrating an amazing golf shot will have to settle for the next best thing: watching the former world No. 1 cheering a hole-in-one by an 11-year-old golfer.
Woods was on hand for the opening of the Playgrounds at Bluejack National golf course Wednesday and witnessed PGA junior Taylor Crozier make the inaugural shot on the 81-yard, par 3.
The once-in-a-lifetime moment sent the crowd into a frenzy, including Woods, who ran towards the youngster and gave him a big bear hug.
“Inaugural shot and he holes it!” he shouted in amazement.
Woods, who helped design the Texas golf course, shared a video of Crozier’s shot on his Twitter page.
It was a rare moment of joy on the green for Woods, who’s been battling a chronic back problem that has forced him to undergo a series of operations. Just last month there were rumors that the pain was so bad that Woods had trouble moving and was all but done with golf.
Tiger Woods is psyched after Taylor Crozier finds the tin on the first shot.
His agent, Mark Steinberg, immediately shot down the rumors as “ridiculous” and Woods then posted a video of himself simulating a golf swing at home.
During a recent Ryder Cup dinner, Woods joked about his ongoing health issues.
“Everybody thinks I’m dead,” he quipped.
